On the news last night someone paraphrased a quote from Winston Churchill – Never waste a crisis. We all have the same amount of time in the day, make good use of those 24 hours. Weather permitting, spend some time outside prepping your flowerbeds and gardens for the coming spring. Ripping out invasive plants can be quite therapeutic. Editing your wardrobe, getting items ready for donation (when the doors re-open), repairing something (like a squeaking door), are the types of activities that keep our minds on the future and are incredible stress reducers.
Someone I text with mentioned that life at home was quiet. I’m not sure what that means – I have socks on the needles, audio books on the phone, bee equipment drying between coats of paint, piles of fabric cleaned and sorted and ready to be sewn into a new bedcover, and a to-do list that keeps reinventing itself.
